The Center for CIO Leadership and Robert Davidson, Chief Executive Officer, Talent Portfolio Solutions hosted an exclusive Center-sponsored CIO Virtual Roundtable Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
The Roundtable session – The ROI of Talent Management: Improving Return and Communicating Results – covered one of the biggest areas under a CIO's watch - measuring and managing the vast portfolio of skills, knowledge and experience of the technology team members. Center research has shown that CIOs find challenges in managing their talent and building an organization to support business growth. In his ongoing work with CIOs and technology teams, Robert Davidson finds that the ongoing rebalancing of staff as the business changes, and communicating the rationale for staffing, are particularly trying areas for CIOs, and challenging in volatile parts of the economic cycle. The better informed the CIO is on how well his team’s skills and competencies are aligned to the business, the more he or she can stay ahead of externally imposed organizational shifts.

Mark shared his perspective on a successful approach to making the business value connection and offered proven strategies for CIOs to employ to advance their strategic agenda within their organization.
